India, Malaysia Sign MoU on Renewable Energy

India and Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in an effort to boost their respective energy sectors though co-operative measures in the renewable energy sector.

The two countries agreed co-operation in the renewable energy sector especially regarding biomass, hydro-power, wind and solar power.

Malaysian Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Peter Chin Fah Kui and Indian Minister of New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) between the two countries.

Both countries will work as a joint force for the purpose of research, exploration and technical personnel. The countries will also exchange available technical information, know-how of ideas, scientific knowledge and technology on a non commercial basis.

Indian Minister Farooq Abdullah updated Malaysian Minister Peter Chin Fah Kui regarding India’s progress in the renewable energy sector and its attempts to promote energy in remote and un-electrified areas.
